Zintec is a cold-rolled mild steel with an electro-galvanised zinc coating, offering a smooth, consistent surface and light corrosion protection. At LGM Engineering, we regularly process Zintec sheet for applications where a clean finish, accurate forming, and suitability for painting or coating are important. It is commonly used as an alternative to pre-galvanised steel where welding or cosmetic finish is required.
Zintec is particularly well suited to enclosures, cabinets, brackets, panels, and fabricated components that will be painted or powder coated after manufacture. The uniform zinc coating provides short-term corrosion resistance during handling and storage, while the smooth surface ensures an excellent base for finishing processes.
All Zintec material is processed in-house using fibre laser cutting and CNC press brake forming to achieve accurate profiles, clean edges, and repeatable results. Where fabrication is required, Zintec can be welded more readily than pre-galvanised steel, making it a practical choice for welded assemblies that will be finished after manufacture.
If you are unsure whether Zintec, galvanised steel, or standard mild steel is most suitable for your application, our team can advise based on fabrication requirements, finish expectations, corrosion exposure, and cost.
